Kelvin is a Malaysian theatre maker, producer, and educator. He was director-in-residence at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre and the Artistic Director of Theatresauce, a KL-based director-focused collective which he founded. He is an MFA graduate from The Theatre School at DePaul University and has taught with Sunway University, Malaysia. Kelvin is currently a second-year PhD candidate with the Universities of Exeter and Bristol, funded by the UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council. His practice research investigates the intersections of Gen Z, intermedial performance, cross-cultural dramaturgy, and sustainable devising practices with and for a digital generation. @gnownivlek
Millie Sale is a 22-year-old practitioner and facilitator from the UK. She was born in Bristol and is currently living in Exeter, Devon. She graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA degree in Drama and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Theatre Practice (Training and Performance), also at the University. She has worked as a facilitator with Anthos Arts for over a year, a non-profit arts organisation that provides drama classes for participants from the ages of 7 - 18. She has toured small-scale educational projects to a variety of primary schools in Devon.
Neon Sugimoto was born in Tokyo in 1996. A contemporary dancer and choreographer, she graduated from the Department of Body Expression and Cinematic Arts at Rikkyo University in Saitama, Japan. She was trained in rhythmic gymnastics and classical ballet from the age of 4. She also discovered contemporary dance at the age of 15. Neon has worked with various choreographers and extended her practice to include music, photography, textiles, videos, and food. She aims to move and think with her body and is on the search for what dance means in the contemporary world. Visit Neon’s portfolio here.
Samuel Tin is a performer and multimedia artist born in 1998. He is an alumnus of Sunway University and a graduate of Performance and Media from the University of South Wales. He made his professional stage debut with Japanese Cucumber at The Human Exhibit (2018), alongside Theyvapaalan S Jayaratnam. Together with Theyvapaalan, Syamsul Azhar, Fahmi Sani, and Denise Lai, Sam worked on தண்ணர் THANNIR, a collaborative video sculpture that addressed the custodial death of A. Ganapathy, which was presented at the 2022 Ilham Art Show. He was recently part of the ensemble of KAKUREGA (2023), which was directed by Haru from Howl’s Collective and presented by Theatresauce. Samuel’s works are experimental in nature, often influenced by the imagery of swimming pools.
YOSHIFUMI HAGIYA · PROJECT TRANSLATOR
Yoshifumi Hagiya is a playwright and theatre director who lives in Tokyo. He writes and directs plays and teaches acting. He has worked on diverse theatre projects for 9 years with his theatre company, mooncuproof; a community theater in Inagi City; Fight! with Itabashi Small Theatre; and non-profit organizations. Yoshifumi was a recipient of the Excellence Award at the Suginami Theatre Festival and the Encouragement Award at the Kanazawa Drama Awards. His works made the final selections at the Kanagawa Short Drama Award and Hokkaido Drama Award. In April of 2024, Yoshifumi resumed his studies in French literature at the University of Tokyo.
