ABOUT

Unsilent Mode is a trilogy of works-in-progress that aims to reconstruct the theatrical event with and for a generation raised on digital media, while distinguishing it from other forms of mediated experiences. The project sits at the junctures of intermedial performance, physical-virtual embodiment, cross-cultural dramaturgy, and environmentally sustainable practices framed by post-pandemic contexts. Each volume explores different pairings from the spectrum of audience engagement: liveness-presence (2024), immersion-embodiment (2025), and participation-interactivity (2026). The project unites performance makers from diverse disciplines worldwide in a single physical location without requiring travel – they alternate between physical and digital forms depending on where the project is presented. Despite its hybrid configuration, the works are experienced by a live audience who occupy a shared space.
